Finish Strong -Eliza Pierce aka T.Rex

Cheers soar through the crowd,
showing they are proud.
The pressure begins to grow,
as your team is watching from front row.
The butterflies fly around tummy,
you know it's not time to stand around like a mummy.
"Swimmers take your mark"- is your key to prepare,
"Go" - the swimmers dive at the same time so it is fair.
You jump and soar,
the crowd's cheers grows to roars.
No matter what stroke,
you know it's not time to be a slow poke.
As you reach for the touch pad it may seem long,
no matter what just finish strong.

The World Cup

If you are an avid soccer fan like I am you would know that the 2014 FIFA world cup is coming up and will be hosted in Brazil! The world cup is only 30 days away and it is a very exciting time as all of the coaches pick their national teams for the cup. The first game of the world cup is June 12 between Brazil and Croatia.
Team rankings
The team ranking isn't a surprise nor should it be really. The ranking is based on the amount of goals they have scored and how many have been scored against them in the past four years. Spain has some of the best players in the world like Xavi Hernandez, and Andres Iniesta. Germany and Portugal have some great players too. Germany has Pilippe Lahm and Portugal has Cristiano Ronaldo. All of the teams are full of great players, these are just a few.

Even though the teams are ranked in this specific order nobody ever knows who will come out on top, there a numerous variables that can effect a team and how successful they will be, injury, coaching, strength of other teams, and referees.

The world cup is a lot of fun, the excitement levels are similar to those for the Super Bowl...except the world cup is roughly a month long and the teams are from all over the world!

Welcome

Welcome to our blog, Sportsanista. This blog is mainly focused on sports and all things that relate to sports such as: sports wear and fashion, music, and food. All of us who will be contributing to the blog are student athletes who participate in either Swim & Dive, Lacrosse, Tennis, Soccer, Alpine Skiing and Track & Field or mix of them.
We are excited to share our stories and thoughts with you, everything from our favorite sports event to our favorite pre-game meal. All of us have a lot of experience in our sports and will have many opinions and tips to share! Due to the fact that we are all young athletes who are competing on a regular basis we know what is happening and what we think you should be informed about.
Each of us has our personal blog linked to this one, so feel free to check them out!
We hope you enjoy this blog, there will be more posts soon!
